Habitat for Humanity International-or Habitat-is a nonprofit organization that helps people in need build houses. Since ۱۹۷۶, volunteers for Habitat have built more than ۳۵۰,۰۰۰ houses worldwide. According to Habitat, however, there are still more than ۱.۶ billion people in the world without decent housing.
Habitat (محل سکونت) یا Habitat for Humanity International یک سازمان غیرانتفاعی است که به افراد نیازمند در ساخت خانه کمک می کند. از سال ۱۹۷۶ داوطلبین Habitat (محل سکونت) بیش از ۳۵۰۰۰۰ خانه در سراسر جهان ساخته اند. بنا به گزارش Habitat (محل سکونت) هنوز بیش از ۱.۶ میلیارد نفر در جهان بدون مسکن مناسب هستند.
In the article below, Mariko Asano talks about her experience as a Habitat volunteer. She has traveled to the Philippines three times to help build houses for people who need them
I am ۲۴ years old, and I grew up in Nishinomiya, Japan. Several years ago, I went to Negros Island in the Philippines as a Habitat volunteer.

This was the first of three trips I have taken to the Philippines as a volunteer. For me, the idea of building somebody's house abroad was very exciting. The next year I returned to Negros Island as a Habitat volunteer. This time I went as a student leader with ۲۸ classmates from Kyoto University of Foreign Studies
این اولین سفر از سه سفری بود که من به عنوان داوطلب به فیلیپین داشتم. برای من ساخت خانه برای کسی در خارج از کشور خیلی هیجان انگیز بود. سال بعد من به عنوان یک داوطلب محل سکونت به نیگروس برگشتم. در این زمان من به عنوان رهبر دانشجویان با ۲۸ همکلاسی از مطالعات خارجی دانشگاه کیوتو آنجا رفتم.
Both the staff and the families on Negros Island became dear friends of the work team I led. Meeting these people was wonderful for each of us. Their lifestyle reminded us of the meaning and value of life.
هم کارمندان و هم خانواده ها در جزیره نگروس دوستان عزیز کار تیمی شدند که من هدایت می کردم. ملاقات این افراد برای هر کدام از ما حیرت انگیز بود. سبک زندگی آنها معنای ارزش زندگی را برای ما یادآوری می کرد.
The people also helped us appreciate the more valuable things in life, such as spending time with your family, friends, and neighbors; developing close relationships; helping each other; and appreciating what you do have. These things are sometimes forgotten in an aflluent country like Japan.
این افراد همچنین به ما کمک کردند تا قدردان چیزهای با ارزش زیادی در زندگی باشیم، همانند گذران وقت با خانواده، دوستان و همسایه ها؛ توسعه روابط صمیمی؛ کمک به دیگران و قدردانی از آنچه دارید. این چیزها گاهی در کشوری ثروتمندی مثل ژاپن فراموش می شود.
We thought we came to the Philippines to help the Filipino people, but they helped us to see something valuable. They generously offered their food, space, and hearts۵ in a way we were unaccustomed to. (Would you give up your bed for a stranger and sleep on the uncomfortable cement floor at your own house?)
ما فکر می کردم آمده ایم به فیلیپین تا به مردم فیلیپینی کمک کنیم، اما آنها به ما کمک کردند تا چیزهای با ارزش زندگی را ببینیم. آنها سخاوتمندانه غذا، جا و قلبهایشان را به نحوی که ما به آن عادت نداشتیم به دیگران پیشکش می کردند.( آیا شما در خانه تان، تختتان را به یک غریبه می بخشید و خودتان روی کف سیمانی می خوابید؟)
When I took my third trip to the Philippines as a Habitat volunteer, I was assigned to a house with young people from around the world. In my group, there were Filipinos, Americans, Indians, Koreans, and Japanese We worked together to complete a house for a family we met on the site.
زمانیکه من سومین سفرم را به عنوان داوطلب به فیلیپین رفتم، با جوانانی از سراسر جهان به یک خانه اعزام شدم. در گروه من فیلیپین ها، آمریکائی ها، هندی ها، کره ایها و ژاپنی ها بودند. ما با هم کار می کردیم تا یک خانه را برای یک خانواده که در سایت دیده بودیم تکمیل کنیم.
On the last day, all of us stood inside a room we had built in just a week, feeling a sense of fulfillment. Even now we keep in touch across the world. Some of us are actively involved in Habitat in different countries
در آخرین روز، همه ما با یک احساس رضایتمندی از انجام کار؛ داخل اتاقی که در مدت یک هفته ساخته بودیم، ایستادیم. حالا هم ما در سراسر دنیا با هم در تماسیم. برخی از ما در Habitat در کشورهای مختلف فعالانه درگیریم.
Habitat brings people together and helps us realize that people all over the world care about each other. Habitat sends the very important message that we can all be friends. Being involved with Habitat for Humanity has changed my life. I've learned that I can make a difference in the world
Habitat مردم را دور هم جمع می کند و به ما کمک می کند تا دریابیم مردم سراسر جهان به یکدیگر اهمیت می دهند. Habitat این پیام مهم را دارد که ما می توانیم با هم دوست باشیم. در ارتباط بودن با Habitat for Humanity (محل سکونت برای بشریت) زندگی من را تغییرداد. من یاد گرفته ام که می توانم در جهان تغییری ایجاد کنم.
